CAHSEE TESTING FOR ALL SOPHOMORES: March 16 – 17, 2010The English Language Arts (ELA) test will be given on Tuesday, March 16 at 8:30 am. The Math test will be given on Wednesday, March 17 at 8:30 am. The California High School Exit Exam is an untimed test given to all sophomores in the state on the same two days. Students must pass both ELA and Math portions of the CAHSEE in order to receive a high school diploma. Please be in school on test days. Sophomores will report to their homerooms at 8:30 on test days. Students who finish within the assigned window will be required to stay in the room until dismissed. Students should bring a book. No electronics will be allowed. Students who need additional time will be allowed to work in another classroom until they have completed the test. All sophomores received two CAHSEE test preparation booklets, one for English and one for Math, in their homeroom classes on February 24. We encourage students to work through the practice questions in those booklets to prepare for a successful exam. For more information about the CAHSEE, visit the California Department of Education web site (www.cde.ca.gov) and follow the CAHSEE links. Under “Program Resources,” you can download additional sample test questions. Bell schedules for CAHSEE testing will be available here on our homepage, and will be sent home with students on Wednesday, March 10.
