Scholarship Information

The Student Education Loan Fund (SELF)

SELF is a 43 year old Livermore volunteer organization which makes interest free loans to Livermore high school graduates or Livermore residents for their continuing or college education.  Since 1962, 409 loans have been issued with a total value of $444,500.  The current average loan is $1,750.  Upon graduation , the students must begin to repay the loans to provide the funds for loans to future deserving students.  Applications can be obtained form the career centers at the local high schools, at the web site http://www.selfloans.org or call Linda Nidever-Galles at (925)443-4943.  The application deadline is July 1.

National Security Technologies, Engineering and Science Scholarship

The Livermore Valley Education Foundation is pleased to announce the 2009-10 National Security Technologies, Engineering and Science Scholarship.  This scholarship is offered as a result of a generous donation from National Security Technologies, LLC.  This donation will enable LVEF along with NSTec to offer two $5000 merit based scholarships to graduating seniors from LVJUSD high schools who will be attending a four year university program in either science or engineering.

In addition, NSTec has donated $10,000 per year for five years to enhance science and math in the LVJUSD schools.  Thank you NSTec for your commitment to and financial support of public education and LVEF's ongoing efforts to restore ans enhance academic programs within the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District.

The TFS program  contains the world's largest scholarship database with more than $20 Billion in scholarship awards and over $5 billion more in state grant programs.  The TFS database is many times larger than any other source of scholarship information.  To logon go to www.tuitionfundingsources.com and click on login.  On the Student Login page click on First Time User? (it should be flashing).  Enter the school's username (Granada) and password (college) and click on the submit button.
